The Bill Smiley Archives

 

The Bill Smiley Archives contain over 12,000 photographs, 300,000 negatives, and 12,000 documents.  The Archives also include the Prince Albert Daily Herald photo archives.  The Archives are a significant source of information for Prince Albert and area.

Bill Smiley Archive Access

  • Public access is available year round.  Please contact the Museum at: 306-764-2992 to book a time for you to visit the Bill Smiley Archives at the Historical Museum.
  • Contact the Archives area by email at archives@historypa.com.
    Please include details related to your request.
  • Phone 306-764-2992 and ask to speak to an Archives volunteer.

Please Note: The Bill Smiley Archives will be implementing a fee schedule, starting October 1st, 2025.
PAHS members will continue to have free access to the Archives, although reproduction rates may still apply.

These fees will help fund archive activities and projects including restoration of physical documents like newspapers and digitizing our archives.  Please consider a donation to help preserve the Archives.

Prince Albert Daily Herald (1910 - 1981)

Copies of the Prince Albert Daily Herald from 1910 to 1981 are available through the Prince Albert Library.  These copies were originally stored on microfilm, but have been digitized through a partnership between the Library and the Historical Society.
